Candace Walsh

Candace Walsh is the author of Licking the Spoon: A Memoir of Food, Family, and Identity (Seal Press, 2012), a 2013 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards winner. She most recently co-edited Greetings from Janeland: Women Write More About Leaving Men for Women (Cleis Press, 2017) and coedited Dear John: I Love Jane: Women Write about Leaving Men for Women (Seal Press, 2010), both Lambda Literary Finalists. She also edited the Seal Press anthology Ask Me About My Divorce: Women Open Up About Moving On. Candace is a second-year creative writing (fiction) PhD student at Ohio University, where she is the assistant fiction editor of the New Ohio Review. She holds an MFA in fiction from Warren Wilson College. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in Brevity, Craft Literary, Fiction Writers Review, New Limestone Review, Doubleback Review, Pigeon Pages, descant, and K’in Literary Journal. Her short story, “The Sandbox Story” was recently published in Akashic Books’ Santa Fe Noir, and was excerpted in Craft Literary. In April 2018, an excerpt from her novel in progress was longlisted in the Stockholm Writers’ Conference First Pages contest. She's She teaches writing classes at Ohio University and Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, and works one-on-one with writers as a developmental editor. She lives in southeastern Ohio.
